                WHAT IS
PHOENIX RISING YOGA ?
A Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy session is a one-on-one process lasting one and a half hours that encourages this deeper connection with self. As the practitioner, I will lead you through guided meditations, breath work, assisted yoga postures and movement while you maintain an inward focus. I use non-directive dialog to bring your attention to what is happening in the present moment and reflect your observations back at you, while witnessing you without direction of judgement. This process can foster insight into long-held patterns, emotional release, relaxation and healing. Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is simple, yet powerful process that offers you an opportunity to connect to this deep innate wisdom and align your heart's desires.
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy can be especially beneficial for people who are going through a transition in their lives (a move, divorce, marriage, pregnancy, career change, death or illness of a loved one, etc.)
for people looking to heal from past trauma (such as emotional, physical or sexual abuse) for people with chronic physical pain or a chronic or terminal illness ... and also for anyone on a journey of personal growth looking to know him or herself better.

Mandy Sergent offers Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy sessions in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania (just outside of State College)

  You have heard the saying, "Once you learn how to ride a bike, you never forget ... your body remembers."

  What if I told you that your body remembers everything that you are exposed to in your life? Your hips store your fears; your neck, the words that you wanted to say, but never did. Consider these common phrases: "You are a pain in my neck."; "She died of a broken heart."; "I have a gut feeling."; "It made me sick to my stomach.";

  As we move through life our bodies internalize, process and filter our experiences - mostly without our conscious awareness.
Our thoughts and feelings remained stored within us and are often the cause of stress, as well as emotional and physical pain or discomfort. We struggle to keep up with the hectic pace of our busy lives, and may find ourselves longing for simplicity, inner peace, and deeper meaning; for a way to heal our bodies, our spirits and ourselves. Though at times, we look for outside sources to guide us, somewhere deep inside we know that we must slow down, reconnect with ourselves and listen to our own inner voice.
